Under Violent Objects

Beschreibung
"Morning radio feeds me my first meal of the day. Work informs me that overtime will achieve a pay rise. My phone bill is three months overdue. My mother calls me for the 7th time to remind me that I haven't called her. I get mugged on the way home from work. A couple of bruises and $2.20 to the offender. I come home to my 30m² apartment and wonder when I'll ever be able to afford a bigger place. I turn on the TV only to hear of the worlds latest terror attacks. I flick through Vogue magazine convinced that I'm the ugliest woman alive. I consider plastic surgery for a moment. I have a physical disorder. I have mental trauma. I've gone under." Anonymous ”šUnder Violent Objects' questions the influence of media, social expectations and cultural/political structure upon society. Are we aware of the effect that it has upon our personal being? If so, can we control it or even ignore it? In collaboration with video-duo Photone, 'Under Violent objects' draws a window into one persons advance and struggle towards a peaceful existence upon our planet Earth. (Quelle: Dock 11)
