„The Inevitable and You“ looks at how complex, interpersonal relationships evolve amidst the density of life, in an endless chaos. How do deep relationships emerge in the opacity and diversity of daily communication? What existential challenges, instincts, and fears influence our togetherness?
Despite highly complex social networks, listening and empathizing are as arduous today as they have always been. Establishing a relationship means taking long-term responsibility, demonstrating courage and perseverance, and not being afraid – of both emotional intimacy and distance.
The dance in „The Inevitable and You“ is the medium of this inner struggle of being in relation. The piece unfolds in a continuous flow of movement, a dynamic, choreographic architecture that never comes to a halt. One movement initiates the next; instinctively, the dancers respond to each other, creating an atmosphere of never-ending intensity.

Sita Ostheimer is a dancer and choreographer based in Berlin. In 2017, she founded the Sita Ostheimer Company, a project-based platform that brings together artists from the fields of dance, music, composition and lighting design. Inspired by and familiar with the movement language of choreographers such as Hofesh Shechter, Itzik Galili and Krisztina deChâtel, with whom she worked for many years, Ostheimer’s focus today is on developing and deepening her own movement aesthetic. Since 2017, she and her company have created numerous in-house productions as well as commissioned works, including for Staatstheater Kassel, Hessisches Staatsballett Wiesbaden, Staatstheater Braunschweig, MIRDance Company Gelsenkirchen, StadRheater Pforzheim, Volkstheater Rostock, XienXin Dance Theater Shanghai, Frontier Danceland Singapore, Folkwang University Essen and Verve – Northern School of Contemporary Dance Leeds. Her work has been presented in Great Britain, the Netherlands, Austria, Israel, Germany, Spain, South Korea, Italy, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa and Switzerland.

Das Stück blickt darauf, wie sich unser Leben als ein endloses Chaos komplexer, zwischenmenschlicher Beziehungen formt und entwickelt. Wie entstehen tiefe Beziehungen in der Undurchsichtigkeit und Vielfalt der täglichen Kommunikation? Welche existentiellen Herausforderungen, welche Instinkte und Ängste beeinflussen die Gestaltung unseres Miteinanders?
Trotz hochkomplexer sozialer Netzwerke sind Zuhören und Einfühlen heute genauso mühsam, wie sie es immer schon waren. Sich mit einem anderen Menschen auseinanderzusetzen, heißt langfristig Verantwortung zu übernehmen, Mut und Ausdauer zu beweisen und keine Angst zu haben ‒ sowohl vor emotionaler Nähe als auch vor Distanz.
Dieser Tanz vermittelt das innere Ringen des In-Beziehung-Seins. Ein kontinuierlicher Bewegungsfluss wird entfaltet, eine dynamische, choreografische Landschaft, die nie zum Stillstand kommt. Eine Bewegung initiiert die nächste; instinktiv antworten die Tänzer*innen aufeinander und schaffen eine Atmosphäre nicht abreißender Intensität.

Sita Ostheimer ist Tänzerin und Choreografin und lebt in Berlin. 2017 gründete sie die Sita Ostheimer Company, eine projektbasierte Plattform, die Künstler*innen aus Tanz, Musik und Komposition sowie Lichtdesign zusammenführt. Inspiriert und vertraut mit der Bewegungssprache von Choreografen wie Hofesh Shechter, Itzik Galili und Krisztina deChâtel, mit denen sie über viele Jahre gemeinsam arbeitete, liegt Ostheimers Augenmerk heute auf der Ausarbeitung und Vertiefung ihrer eigenen Bewegungsästhetik. Seit 2017 erarbeitete sie mit ihrer Company zahlreiche Eigenproduktionen sowie Auftragsarbeiten, u.a. für das Staatstheater Kassel, Hessische Staatsballett Wiesbaden, Staatstheater Braunschweig, MIRDance Company Gelsenkirchen, StadRheater Pforzheim, Volkstheater Rostock, XienXin Dance Theater Shanghai, Frontier Danceland Singapore, die Folkwang Universität Essen sowie für Verve – Northern School of Contemporary Dance Leeds. Ihre Arbeiten wurden in Großbritannien, den Niederlanden, Österreich, Israel, Deutschland, Spanien, Südkorea, Italien, Singapur, Slowenien, Südafrika und der Schweiz präsentiert.
