That of performer, Katrina E. Bastian, whose heartbeat is shared in realtime and manipulated by a computer program. The performance delves into the fetishization of effort, reshaping love from a mere battlefeld to a cardio session. CARDIAC. Die Performance CARDIAC findet in einem Sportclub statt, der Brutalismus des Trainingsraums wird von herzförmigen Accessoires und verheißungsvollen Pop-Songs durchbrochen. Würde ein Computerprogramm sprechen, es könnte diese Zeilen von Britney Spears zitieren: „Oops, I Did It Again, I played with your heart, got lost in the game…“ Auf dem Spiel steht das Herz der Künstlerin Katrina E. Bastian selbst. Es ist ihr Herzschlag, der in Echtzeit geteilt und durch ein stochastisches Programm in neue Bahnen gelenkt wird. Die Show erforscht die Fetischisierung von Anstrengung und wandelt Liebe von einem metaphorischen Schlachtfeld in eine Cardio-Session um. CARDIAC ist mehr als nur eine Performance – es ist ein pulsierendes Erlebnis, eine Begegnung mit dem Herzen, das nun bereit ist, erworben zu werden.
