MEDIATHEK

A dance, music and multimedia immersive work that portrays the dual nature of the human being. On the one hand, the creative, innovative and visionary power, and on the other, the exponential pursuit of economic advantage through power and control. It explores the standardized global food production and its effects on people and the environment.
Premiered in Brandenburg on May 2023, with the support of the “FondsDaku”, this project invites us to reflect on the complexity of human nature.

The premiere in May 2023 was supported by Fonds Darstellende Künste with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media within the framework of NEUSTART KULTUR, in cooperation with DOCK 11 / DOCKdigital and Kilobow Kleinow e.V.

Yeri Anarika was born and raised in Mexico City and graduated from the Academia de la Danza Mexicana and the Centre National de la Danse d’Angers in France.
As a dance artist, she works in the creation and direction of professional dance, theatre, opera, documentary, podcast and numerous cultural education and community projects.
As an artist, she combines dance, music and multimedia to take audiences on an aesthetic and reflective journey. In her latest works, she explores universal and contemporary themes that deal with the complex human condition and our responsibility in today’s global environment. Her approach often involves the creation of Characters with defined psychologies, and she always tries to treat the themes with a pinch of humour.

„In Your Body“ porträtiert die duale Natur des Menschen – von kreativer Innovation bis hin zu kompromisslosem Streben nach wirtschaftlichem Erfolg durch Macht und Kontrolle. Die aktuelle Bühnenversion wurde von Yeri Anarika produziert und von Cornelia Baumgart unterstützt, unter dem Dach von UMtanz e.V.
Die erste Phase dieses Projekts feierte im Mai 2023 Premiere und wurde vom Fonds Darstellende Künste mit Mitteln des Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien im Rahmen von NEUSTART KULTUR gefördert, in Zusammenarbeit mit DOCK 11 / DOCKdigital und Kilobow Kleinow e.V.

Yeri Anarika ist in Mexiko-Stadt geboren und aufgewachsen und hat einen Abschluss an der Academia de la Danza Mexicana und am Centre National de la Danse d’Angers in Frankreich gemacht. Als Tanzkünstlerin arbeitet sie an der Kreation und Leitung professioneller Tanz-, Theater-, Opern-, Dokumentarfilm-, Podcast- und zahlreicher kultureller Bildungs- und Gemeinschaftsprojekte.
Als Künstlerin kombiniert sie Tanz, Musik und Multimedia, um das Publikum auf eine ästhetische und reflektierende Reise mitzunehmen. In ihren jüngsten Werken erforscht sie universelle und zeitgenössische Themen, die sich mit der komplexen menschlichen Situation und unserer Verantwortung in der heutigen globalen Umwelt befassen. Ihr Ansatz beinhaltet oft die Schaffung von Charakteren mit definierter Psychologie, und sie versucht stets, die Themen mit einer Prise Humor zu behandeln.
