Composer/ singer Maria Coma and choreographer/ dancer Naïma Mazic are uncovering shared roots in their first few encounters for soundance festival being in concert with each other. Naïma has been developing pathways for dancers and musicians to think and communicate through a common polyrhythmic melodic language and Maria’s seeds for „Rooting“ are her most recent compositions that emerge via the human body as the instrument and the origin of musicality, particularly the voice. The touch might happen entangled or untangled, their individual roots crossing in the same soil and breaths. In this duet, each moment something will be planted in the field of the unknown. Another way to improvise under the moon.

NAÏMA MAZIC is the founder of more2rhythm and n ï m company 2016, with the first performance in Havana, Cuba. She was resident choreographer at K3 Tanzplan Hamburg and holds an MA in Performance Studies from NYU Tisch. She has studied with P.A.R.T.S. and the Reykjavik Academy of Arts, among others. Naïma was part of the HipHop Continuum at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival USA and ImPulsTanz DanceWeb15 & 22, and loves to give her workshop OF(F) RHYTHM. Naïma focuses on polyrhythmic & polyphonic communication between dancers and (jazz) musicians, filled with sensuality and femininity.



MARIA COMA is a singer, composer, pianist and performer. Their work meets at the intersection of music, sound art, performance and embodiment. Their artistic practice is driven by self-research exploring music from a physical experience – with an emphasis on the human voice. They create and stimulate voice and embodiment practices to develop a decolonized and polyvalent language of vibration. They hold five published solo albums, touring in Spain, Germany, South America and collaborate with a broad type of artists and musicians. They hold a somatic movement educator certification from Body-Mind Centering® facilitating workshops, esp. about voice and vibration.

Die Komponistin und Sängerin Maria Coma und die Choreografin und Tänzerin Naïma Mazic legen bei ihren ersten Begegnungen für das soundance festival gemeinsame Wurzeln frei, die sie in dis/harmonie miteinander teilen. Naïma hat Wege für Tänzerinnen und Musikerinnen entwickelt, um über eine gemeinsame polyrhythmische melodische Sprache zu denken und zu kommunizieren, und Marias Saat für „Rooting“ sind ihre jüngsten Kompositionen, die über den menschlichen Körper als Instrument und Ursprung der Musikalität, insbesondere der Stimme, entstehen. Die Berührung kann verwickelt oder entwickelt geschehen, ihre individuellen Wurzeln kreuzen sich im selben Boden und Atem. In diesem Duett wird in jedem Moment etwas auf dem Feld des Unbekannten gepflanzt. Ein weiterer Weg, unter dem Mond zu improvisieren.

MARIA COMA ist Sängerin, Komponistin, Pianistin, Performerin. Ihre Arbeit bewegt sich an der Schnittstelle von Musik, Klangkunst, Performance und Verkörperung. Ihre künstlerische Praxis erforscht die Musik, v.a. die menschliche Stimme, aus einer körperlichen Erfahrung heraus. Sie kreiert und stimuliert Stimm- und Verkörperungspraktiken, um eine dekolonisierte und polyvalente Sprache der Vibration zu entwickeln. Sie veröffentlichte fünf Soloalben, tourt in Spanien, Deutschland, Südamerika und arbeitet mit vielen Künstlern und Musikern zusammen. Sie ist zertifizierte Somatic Movement Educator von Body-Mind Centering® , leitet Workshops, v.a. über Stimme und Schwingung.
