Hafliði ARMGRÍMSSON (1951) – studied dramatics and communications at the universities of Vienna and Stockholm and direction at the Max-Reinhardt-Seminar in Vienna. He has worked as dramaturg and director at the National Theatre, the Reykjavík City Theatre, the National Broadcasting Service (radio and television), Riksteatern Sweden and Vesturport. He has been creative director with the independent theatre company Frú Emilía since its establishment in 1986. Haflidi taught history of theatre at the Icelandic School of Acting 1985–2004 and has been dramaturg and director at the Reykjavík CityTheatre since 1996. He has translated numerous plays, children’s books and novels into Icelandic.
