„Adham Hafez lebt in Kairo und entwickelt Tanzperformances, Konzerte, Lectures, Installationen und ortsspezifische Projekte. Er studierte zeitgenössischen Tanz und Oper an der Modern Dance School der Oper Kairo und machte seinen Master in Choreografie an der Amsterdam Theater School in den Niederlanden. Einen Großteil seiner Produktionen entwickelt er mit der Adham Hafez Company in Ägypten, in arabischen Regionen und in Europa. Er unterrichtete Performancetheorie und zeitgenössischen Tanz an der Amerikanischen Universität in Kairo. Zur Zeit arbeitet er an seiner Masterarbeit in Politikwissenschaft unter Bruno Latour, an SciencePo (Paris). Hafez gründete HaRaKa, Ägyptens erstes Forschungs-, Entwicklungs- und Archivprojekt im Bereich Tanz, dessen Leiter er ist. Er ist ebenso künstlerischer Leiter des TransDance Festivals. Er initiierte die Publikation "Cairography", die Rezensionen über Choreografie und Performancestudien in Ägypten veröffentlicht. Hafez erhielt für seine Arbeit zahlreiche Auszeichnungen und seine neueste Lecture-Performance-Serie wurde im MoMA (New York) Anfang des Jahres vorgestellt.“

“Adham Hafez lives in Cairo (Egypt), where he develops dance performances, concerts, lectures, installations and site-specific projects. He studied contemporary dance and Opera at the Modern Dance School of the Cairo Opera House, and did his masters in choreography at the Amsterdam Theatre School in the Netherlands. The majority of his productions have been developed with the Adham Hafez Company in Egypt, in the Arabic Speaking Region and in Europe. In addition he taught performance theory and contemporary dance at the American University in Cairo, and is currently finishing his masters in Political Science under Bruno Latour, at SciencePo (Paris). Hafez is the founder and director of HaRaKa, Egypt's first research, development and archival project in the field of dance. The choreographer and composer is also artistic director of the TransDance Festivals, and has initiated the publication "Cairography", which publishes reviews about choreography and performances studies in Egypt. Adham Hafez was awarded numerous prizes and grants for his work, and his latest lecture-performance series was presented at the MoMA (NYC) earlier this year.”
