Mia Haugland Habib, holds a B.A. degree from the Choreography Course and a one-year study in Dance Pedagogy at the former State College of Ballet and Dance in Oslo, 1999-2003. She has choreographed, danced and researched in several Euroean countries as well as in Brazil, Madagascar among others. Identity, religious and cultural convergence, and the individual in relation to oppressive structures and regimes are recurring themes in her work. Habib sees the journey as an integral part of her work and have several times visited areas of conflict as part of the research to upcoming productions. The coming projects for her association Mia Habib productions / Sweet&Tender Norway are “WE INSIST, a trio with Rani Nair (S) and Jassem Hindi (F) and “Mia and Gui, a coupledance, a duet with Guilherme Garrido (P). She has been working in different project such as Julie Nioche/A.I.M.E (F), IRO-company (N), Petter Goldstine (N/US), Bea Niechele/company be willie (CH) and the performance group L.U.N (N). She is a part of the new network Sweet & Tender Collaborations and was in 2007 presented in the frame of the IDEE-network.
