Argentinean choreographer/performer and video artist, Rodrigo Pardo graduated from Dasarts-Advanced Studies in Performing Arts (Amsterdam,The Netherlands) Theater School of Bahía Blanca (Argentine) and Contemporary Dance School of Teatro General San Martín (Buenos Aires, Argentina) His artistic work ranges from dance pieces and video, to site-specific projects with the utilization of mixed media. This interdisciplinary practice is characterized by an special relation with urban spaces, the use of movement as a tool to perceive time, and the insertion of constructed fiction in daily life as a way to open doors of awareness on how we perceive reality. Pardo’s production includes: Roof a live movie/Napoli (2009), Roof a live movie/Amsterdam (2008), Framing soul/ Ognat/ Tango Toilet (2007), Una Toma( 2006), Dos ambientes (2005), Round Trip (2004), REC 13:18 (2003) and Cuadrado Negro sobre Fondo Negro (2001) His pieces have been presented at or by: Biennale di Venezia (IT), Napoli Teatro Festival Italia(IT), Dance Umbrella (UK), Festival de Marseille (FR), Festival International de Buenos Aires (AR), Festival Temporada Alta (ES), Centro Experimental del Teatro Colón (AR), Museo Palazzo Riso (IT), Rockefeller Center (US), Fringe Festival Shanghai (CN), Thessaloniki Film Festival (GR), Dança em Foco (BR), Dance Camera West (US), IMZ Dance Screen (SZ), Cinedans ( NL), and many others. He has been member of the Argentinean dance companies: Ballet de Bolsillo (dir. Oscar Aráiz), Tangokinesis (dir. Ana Maria Stekelman), Lesgart-Sanguinetti Company, Ballet Juvenil del teatro San Martin de Bs As (dir. Norma Binaghi) and Ballet del Sur de Bahía Blanca (dir. Violeta Janeiro). His work has been supported by international institutions and foundations like: Biennale di Venezia (Italy), Napoli Teatro Festival Italia (Italy), American Dance Festival (U.S), Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst, Dasarts, and TheTheatreSchool Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Fundación Antorchas, Fondo Nacional de las Artes and Prodanza (Argentina) Rodrigo Pardo is currently living and working in Brussels.
