Ana Deutsch was born in the city of Kosice in the current Republic of Slovakia. Her training and artistic career took place in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina where she lives now. Her teachers in Buenos Aires were Renate Shottelius, Estela Maris Juan Carlos Bellini, Freddy Romero, Gloria Gazda, and Amalia Lozano , among others. She received her degree as a teacher of Body Expression from the Collegium Musicum of Buenos Aires where she studied with Patricia Stokoe. She continued her training in New York City at the Contemporary Dance School of Martha Graham, at the Dance Theater School of Alvin Ailey, and completed her training in technique at the schools of Jose Limon, Merce Cunningham and Sarah Rutner She was co-director of the independent dance group "Nucleodanza' and was invited to join the Contemporary Dance Company of the San Martin Theater. The Argentine Dance Council awarded her an honorary diploma for her career as a teacher. She was given the "Norma Fontenla" prize as dancer and choreographer awarded by the Center of Research and Experimentation in Dance. She currently runs her own dance studio which invites the most prestigious artists of the country and from abroad. She is a professor in the Department of Choreographic Composition at the University Institute of the Arts. She is frequently invited to give classes at festivals and various artistic institutions both within the country and abroad. Most recently, she has been carrying out a particular choreographic investigation as a soloist and researching and studying themes related to philosophy, aesthetics, schools of thought and representation of the human body throughout history.
