Heli Meklin likes to observe different phenomena, people, identities, and the dialogue between society and art. Meklin graduated from the Theatre Academy in Helsinki in 2006. She is now based in Helsinki, but also works elsewhere in Europe as a choreographer, dancer and performer. Her recent work Untitled, premiered at Zodiak Centre for New Dance in Helsinki (2007), took her on tour in Japan and in Germany. During the course of the year 2008 Meklin presented her new group work Moving at the Full Moon Dance Festival in Finland and her collaboration with Michael Laub, Bruce and more at the Moving in November -festival in Helsinki. Beside staged works, Meklin's interest is heading towards exploring the possibilities to see choreography from a wider perspective and to find new kinds of artistic engagements.
