Information

Dieter Welke was born in 1946 at Frankfurt/Main (Germany). He is a theatre director, playwright and consultant. Between 1975-1992 he was a research professor at a university in France. Beginning in the 1970’s he started a double career at the university and as an artist. From 1980-81 he was a radio producer at Radio-France/France-Culture, from 1981-1996 he was a dramatist and comedian for the Coppany des Matinaux (Paris/France) and the Centre Dramatique National de Reims (France), 1992-95 he served as a playwright, artistic director and comedian at Schauspielhaus Bochum (Théâtre de Bochum/Germany), 1996-1998 artistic director, playwright and theater director at Théâtre de Freiburg (Germany) and 1998-1999 in the same position at Théâtre de Erlangen (Germany). Since the 1990’s he has worked equally as a theater director and educator in Latin America, notably in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. A member of the l’Institut International du Théâtre (IIT). He is the spokesperson for International IIT to UNESCO. (Quelle: www.unesco.org) /cp
