Ohad Fishof is an artist and musician, working in a diverse range of fields including sound, dance, video, performance and installation. He began his artistic career as a musician (with seminal pop combo Nosei Hamigbaat) and later moved to compose music for dance, performance and art installations, while at the same time expanding his artistic endeavors to other media. In 1997 he received a master’s degree in dance from Laban Centre London. Since then, his work in dance and performance, as well as his sound and video installations, were presented on stages and in galleries around the world, including The Venice Biennale. In 2005 he performed A Slow Walk for Longplayer in London, commissioned by Artangel. A long term collaborator of Batsheva Dance Company and its Artistic Director Ohad Naharin, Fishof designs the soundtracks for Naharin’s creations since 2003. He is also a teacher of Gaga, Naharin’s movement language. Over the past few years Fishof presented video, installation and choreographic work in Israel and Japan, designed soundtracks for various dance pieces in Israel and abroad and took part in many group exhibitions. He recently served as guest editor for a special edition of Studio, Israel’s leading art magazine, and formed Bney Hama, a new duo with Ishay Adar, where he plays circuit bent instruments and sings. He is also a member of the improvisation trio Yom Gagatzi. Fishof lives and works in Tel Aviv and teaches at Hamidrasha Art College and at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.
