Coton, A. V. (orig. Edward Haddakin;b York, 1906, d Blackheath, 7 July 1969). British dance critic and writer. He began life as a merchant seaman and policeman but took up ballet criticism in 1935. He helped Tudor to form the London Ballet in 1938. He was ballet critic of the Daily Telegraph (1954-69). Author of A Prejudice for Ballet (London, 1938), The New Ballet: Kurt Jooss and his Work (London, 1946), and Writings on Dance 1938-68 (ed. posthumously; London, 1975). (Quelle:www.answers.com) /cp
