Curriculum Vitae Suzy Blok 1963 born in Bogota, Colombia 1965 - 1976 lived in Guatemala and Mexico 1970 - 1981 followed R.A.D. dance-education in Mexico and The Netherlands 1981 diploma high school (V.W.O.) in the Netherlands 1985 graduated from Scapino Dansacademie, Hoge School voor de Kunsten, Amsterdam (H.B.O.) 1986 was one of the founders of 'Glashart Theaterdans', where she worked as a dan¬cer/choreo¬grap¬her until September 1987 1990 initiator of Satori, the foundation she is currently still working in. 1990 - 1999 collaborated with British dancer/choreographer Christopher Steel as Blok&Steel based in Amsterdam and toured various European countries and Canada 2000 - 2007 worked as an independent choreographer under the name Blok&Steel and since 2003 under the name Suzy Blok created dance-theatre performances and dance-films 1999 – 2003 member of the commission multi-disciplinary projects, Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst. 2001 - 2005 programmer for the Rumori Festival (new music and multi-disciplinary festival). 2001 – 2005 member of the jury for the VSCD dance-awards. 2003 - 2009 board member of Cinedans. 2003 - 2005 2-year funding programme of the FAPK. 2006 – 2007 stipendium FAPK 2008 - advisor at Media Fonds 2008 - Artistic coordinator and dance dramaturge at Danswerkplaats Amsterdam 2009 - board member of Tragic Trio Languages: English, Spanish, Dutch and French – all fluent.
