was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina (1975) where she studied dance and Sciences of Social Communication at the University of Buenos Aires. In 2003 graduated as Dance Maker at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten–Dansacademie Arnhem, Holland. Since then, lives in Zürich, where she works as independent choreographer. Her work poses questions on the routines and patterns of contemporary life.  Her interest lies in revisiting the taken-for-granted assumptions that rule social behaviour and that shape our model of communication. She has collaborated with the artists Martin Schick, Krööt Juurak, Simone Aughterlony, Nicolas Galeazzi and Marina Belobrovaja. She has directed : Multiverse (2007), “Excuse me please could you choreograph me (2007-10), “Do what you see/ See what you do (2009) and Title (2009), in coolaboration with Martin Schick. She is currently working on “Common sense“ (working title), a new coolaboration with Martin Schick that will premiere in march 2010 in Sophiensaele, Berlin in the frame of Freischwimmer Festival. Laura Kalauz wurde 1975 in Buenos Aires, Argentinien geboren und studierte Tanz und Soziale Kommunikationswissenschaften ander Universität in Buenos Aires. 1998 zog sie nach Europa, wo sie Tanz und Improvisation. 2003 schloss sie am European Dance DevelopmentCenter – Dansacademie Arnhem Niederlande als Dance Maker ab. Seither lebt sie in Zürich, wo sie als freie Choreografin arbeitet. Es folgten Auftritte an verschiedenen Festivals und Veranstaltungsorten in Europa und Südamerika sowie Zusammenarbeiten mit Künstlern wie Krööt Juurak, Marina Belobrovaja, Nicolas Galeazzi und Simone Aughterlony. Für die Bühne kreierte sie die Stücke «Turist» (2005), «Multiverse» (2006), «Excuse me please could you choreograph me» (2007-2010, «Title« (2009) und «Do what you see_see what you do« (2009). In ihrer Arbeit erforscht sie Muster und Verhaltensweisenunserer Zeit, hinterfragt und erforscht scheinbar selbstverständliche Annahmen des alltäglichen Lebens. Momentan arbeitet sie, in Zusammenarbeit mit Martin Schick, am Performanceprojekt «CMMN SNS PRJCT», Premiere: 2011.
