Information

Milica Tančić was born in Belgrade, graduated from the Lujo Davičo High School of Ballet in the department of classical ballet, and later trained in the field of contemporary dance at the academy in Budapest (Budapest Kortárstánc Főiskola) and Berlin (Berlin Dance Institute). After finishing school, she joined the dance collective Thrivia, and his first solo work "Common Thread" presented at the A.PART festival in 2022. She is currently engaged in the international multidisciplinary project De Structura with the theme of animal rights, and is also a scholarship holder of the DIS-TANZ-SOLO program with "the jump that doesn't go" project. Today is nearly forever, which deals with the somatic research of memory and dementia. In addition, she is employed at the International Theater Institute on the tanz:digital project, which explores the connections between dance and digital technologies.

“I see the body as powerful and miraculous; and I believe that the dancing body is able to harness embodied knowledge and provoke transformational imaginings of what could be as it creates utopias of ways of living as individuals, communities and societies. I also believe in the power of art and examine the ways in which the analytical and the poetic intertwine.” (Milica Tančić)
