Hiroko Tanahashi, Absolventin der Filmhochschule of Arts in New York, hat sich auf „Physical Computing“ spezialisiert: interaktive Medien-Kunstwerke. (Quelle: Fest mit Pina) Hiroko Tanahashi is a graduate of Tisch School of the Arts‘ Film and Television Program at New York University (BFA) and of the MFA Program in Multi Media Design and Technology at Parsons School of Design, New York. In 2002 she moved to Berlin to work as artistic co-director of post theater. She is the artistic director of “Heavenly Bento which was shown at Biennale Bonn and Museum for Communication in Berlin (2004), the Singapore Arts Festival (2005) and Japan Society, New York (2009). She showed her solo exhibition “delicious moves at Zagreus Projekt in Berlin (2004) and the Museum fuer Gestaltung, Zurich (2005). She collaborated with Maren Strack on “6 Feet Deeper, which was shown at Deutsches Museum (Munich, 2004), Tanz Im August (Berlin, 2004). For the piece “Figure 8 Race she was awarded with the Bremen Author’s award. The production was invited to several festivals, including “Tanz im August (2006). Tanahashi’s video performance SkinSITEs was invited to and commissioned by 13 venues around the world, including Bangkok, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Zurich, Taipei, Salamanca, Rijeka and Barcelona. Hiroko Tanahashi is recipient of the Franklin Furnace Award 2006 (New York) for her piece “The Final Act. Her piece Fish-Tales has premiered in 2010 at Sophiensaele, Berlin. She has been invited to artist in residency programs at Taipei Artist Village (2007/2008), Kunsttaum Syltquelle (2006/2007), SAIR Solyst, Denmark (2008), PACT Zollverein (2006), Tokyo Wonder Site and NES, Iceland (both in 2009).
