Gabriel Schenker is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he lived until 2003. His interest in dance began in 1998 with Israeli folk dances. In that same year joined many Israeli dance groups in Rio followed by dance, gymnastics and aerial acrobatics classes. From 2001 to 2003 he was a member of Cia. Deborah Colker, a dance company renowned in Brazil and abroad, with whom he toured widely across Brazil as well as in Germany, England, Ireland, France, USA, China and New Zealand. In the first half of 2004 he came to Brussels and followed numerous dance classes and workshops. Later that year he joined P.A.R.T.S., where he stayed until 2008, completing both the Training and Research Cycles. While at P.A.R.T.S. he participated in the creation of many performances both as a performer and choreographer, including Super Conflict, directed by Robin Johnsson in 2006 and presented in Brussels, Gent, Oostende and London. In 2007, his first collaboration with Franziska Aigner, called Hip / How to Become Composition, formed a strong artistic alliance that continued into their last duet, Throwing Rocks, met with great acclaim wherever presented. Both of these duets participated in and were supported by the development of a group of students sharing artistic views and processes, which in 2008 culminated in the formation of the collective Busy Rocks.
