Cabal, Marisa

Information

Marisa Cabal, born in Barcelona in 1984, followed classical and contemporary dance studies in the Dance Conservatory of the Theatre Institute of Barcelona. She started her choreographic work in 2004 with Solo Eleanor, one of the awarded pieces in the Choreographic Dance Contest in Calvià (Mallorca). She moved to Brussels were she developed further her work in the performing arts field. She joined PARTS, were she studied during four years and has been graduated in 2008. During her studies, she explored different movement techniques. She worked consistently in a series of dance solos based on the mixture of flamenco and contemporary dance: Liviana, Tiento and In-be-twins. For the end of studies project in Parts, she made the piece keeping busy keeping still and the video-dance kwik, kwek & kwak in collaboration with Tuur Marinus and Fabian Barba. She joined the artistic collective Busy Rocks in 2008. In 2009, she will create a quintet with Busy Rocks and will participate in the Choreographers Work Weeks of fabrik Potsdam with a research project based on dance hibridisation. (Quelle: Busy Rocks)
