Bridge Markland's production 'in the box' casts a subjective eye on the lives of Valeska Gert = "Valli, Anita Berber = "A.B.", Josef Stalin "Wissi the Great" and others. The artist zaps through their biographies at breakneck speed and puts them "in the box", a 1x1 metre cardboard box that changes its meaning during each section of the performance. Using simple props and objects, she plays and dances every second to an ingenious soundtrack collage of biography snippets and 20th century popular music. The interest is not in historical details, but in a particular atmosphere to encircle the chosen characters.

Bridge Markland wirft in ihrer Produktion 'in the box' ein subjektives Auge auf die Leben von Valeska Gert = "Valli, Anita Berber = "A.B.", Josef Stalin "Wissi der Große" und anderen. Die Künstlerin zappt in rasendem Tempo durch ihre Biographien und steckt sie "in die Kiste", eine 1x1 Meter Papp-Box die während jedes Abschnittes der Performance ihre Bedeutung wechselt. Einfache Requisiten und Objekte benutzend, spielt und tanzt sie im Sekundentakt zu einer genialen Soundtrack Collage aus Biografie Schnipseln und Populärmusik des 20. Jahrhundert. Das Interesse gilt nicht den historischen Details, sondern einer bestimmten Atmosphäre zur Umkreisung der ausgewählten Personen.
