Stücke in voller Länge: I. Irony of Fate (2004, 10min.) Irony of Fate is a sublime duet performed by one female dancer and a violinist. In this piece, virtuosity and passion come together, as two artists embark on a journey that takes them to the brink of exhaustion. The work is a dialogue, with the dancer responding to the crisp, complex and occasionally abrasive music of 'Partita' by Vytautas Barkauskas. The piece can be performed to recorded music. The dancers perform in the soundscape of their own vocal journeys, showing us energy, beauty and white-hot intensity in the mundane, the dangerous and the desperate. Linear Remains (2001, 14min) Linear Remains, by Rambert’s Associate Choreographer, RAFAEL BONACHELA is a fine example of his free-flowing approach to movement that fizzes with kinetic energy. Dancers’ bodies intertwine creating angular patterns of mesmerising complexity and limbs extend into space forming lines that impress themselves on the memory.
