Der Ndombolo ist eine wirbelnde Mischung aus Rumba, traditionellen einheimischen Rhythmen, der Musik sonntäglicher Blaskapellen und Funk. Obwohl in den Texten dieser Musik hauptsächlich materialistische Träume besungen werden, hat die unmittelbare körperliche Wirkung des „kongolesischen Pop“ den Choreografen Faustin Linyekula stark beeindruckt. Der außergewöhnlichen Energie der Gitarren und den Stimmen des Ndombolo fügt Faustin Linyekula eine neue Textebene und seine Choreografien hinzu, um uns „mit beiden Beinen fest am Boden zum Träumen zu bewegen“. MORE MORE MORE… FUTURE lädt dazu ein, gemeinsam über die Zukunft nachzudenken – ein Feuerwerk aus Rockkonzert und Choreografie zu den schnellen Rhythmen von Flamme Kapaya.
The ndombolo is a swirling mixture of rumba, traditional rhythms, Sunday brass-band music and funk. Faustin Linyekula is fascinated by the direct impact of this “Congolese pop” on the body, even though mainly materialist dreams usually make up the lyrics. He adds his own scores to the extraordinary energy of the guitars and the voice of the ndombolo; they urge us to “dream with our feet on the ground.” MORE MORE MORE… FUTURE invites the spectator to build a future to the devilish rhythms of Flamme Kapaya and his colleagues. On stage, dancers and musicians serve up a rock concert/choreography that also acts as a guide for reflection.
