MARIA F. SCARONI's works focus on the process of collaboration, plays with durational experiences and is featured by a crossbreeding between performance,choreography and installation. Creations: The Symmetry Project with Jess Curtis/Gravity, The State of Things AADK/Vania Rovisco, Dance.Private Carnival (dance installation)/AADK. She has been working with Jess Curtis/Gravity (Berlin/SF) since 2004. In Berlin she performed with Wilhelm Groener, Hanna Hegenscheidt, Friederike Plafki, Juli Reinartz and Diane Busuttil. She is engaged in improvisational collective practices (Meg Stuart/Auf den Tisch/; P.O.R.C.H./Ponderosa; around queer-identified San Francisco-based choreographers and artists including master-dance pioneer- healer Sara Shelton Mann and Keith Hennessy). She is part of the artistic network AADK within which she encounters Vania Rovisco in The State of Things (visual art performance) and together they are establishing a teaching practice focusing mostly on the forms and practices of "contemporary bodies" (P.O.R.C.H./Ponderosa). She holds a Masters degree in Italian Modern Literature, with a focus on Media and Communication and a thesis on education and dance.
